Zim’s police brutality

Such blatant abuse of power and the hatred for your own brother is appalling.

In the wake of recent uprising in Zimbabwe, there has just been so many videos uploaded and shared on social networks that leaves a lot to be desired of the ruling government in Zimbabwe.

Many of which you might have seen but the one i thought you should see is attached here. This one really caught my eye and disturbed a part of me so deep inside, that I never knew existed. A part of me, that lay asleep for so long, was awaken. Such blatant abuse of power and the hatred for your own brother is appalling. A complete lack of heart for people (as far as I know) standing up for everybody’s concern, including the police officer’s that starred in this cellphone video.

The masses, protesting for various issues including and not limited to service delivery, corrupt leaders to step down, ban on imports lift, human rights abuse and the timeous payment of civil servants salaries. The majority of which are urniformed government who where promised a meagre $100US as a cushion until the government has enough money to pay them just a few days ago. The police, who have been surviving on road blocks and bribes are sadly unpertubed by their demise as clearly they are part of the group that hasn’t received payments in a long while while on the other hand beating up people protesting for their wellbeing as well.

There can never be a strong need to change the government and take to book all those who have brought the economy to its knees. I do not agree with vandalism and unlawful acts during protests, one has to apply their own mind and act as humanly as possible. So too to the police and officials involved in all this.

As much as I would love to write long and lovely, my emotions are all over the place. Hurt that as my brother cries, kleptomaniacs run free and still threaten to beat us under our feet.

  1. It’s awful, terrifying and inhumane – how can one human do that to another. It’s beyond me.
I read somewhere today that the police officers involved in this incident and others will be prosecuted. Let’s hope the magistrate presiding over their cases is as free and fair in their judgement and Evan’s was. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
